We are a local band called ‘Gladstone’ and we are looking for a person/ small company to video a gig for us. The quality needs to be good enough to be able to use on our websites. Obviously we will pay but we can’t afford the huge fees that big companies charge. Contact details are as follows: EMAIL ruth@gladstonemusic.com   TEL 0191 2599050/ 07866 532647 (please ask for Ruth or Arty). Credits will also be given on websites. Thanks.

I was just wondering if you had any local bands that would want an opportunity to show 100-150 people what they are made of?  It is a 5k event held to sponsor Safehome, a domestic violence shelter, and will be held at 6:00PM September 20th.  The live band would be starting at 7:00 and would play for 1-2 Hrs.  If you know of anyone, please contact me at this email or at 913-647-1151, or email me at info@fitnessquestkc.com.

Hi, i'm looking to start up a band. Quite a layed back approach. Would like to gig, but in no real hurry. I can sing and play guitar, but both singers and guitarists are welcome! lots of influences, but the main ones would problably include Stones, chilli peppers, King of leon, oasis, nirvana, Kasabian, gnr, charlatans, stone roses, lenny kravitz, primal scream, the verve etc etc. I also write stuff, but i'm not bothered whether we play originals or not. Looking for morpeth, ashington, bedlington, blyth area.

Anyone interested give me a shout

Cheers,
Richie.

We're live at the Carling Academy in Newcastle this Saturday (4th November) supporting the terrific 'Mundy' - the Multi-platinum selling Irish singer/songwriter.
Doors open at 7pm, we'll be on stage at 8.10pm.

Entry is £5 for everyone on the guestlist (to get on all you need to do is email us with your full name), otherwise it is £8. Once you are in you can stay for the Bulletproof clubnight free of charge.

Greetings!

As some of you may know we recently took over StreetTeam.org.uk from Rachel McArthur and we have now re-named it FOOTSOLDIERS. It now forms part of Industrial Strength, a music marketing company owned by Captains Of Industry record label
www.captainsof.com With your help, we are sure that FOOTSOLDIERS will be the best street team through-out the land….

We are really keen to sign up some of your favourite bands to FOOTSOLDIERS so that you can help them promote their releases and tours (and get some free stuff in return!), but firstly we need to build up a network of music fans. If you are still interested in doing some street teaming (or fancy giving it a go for the first time*), could you please go here
www.captainsof.com/footsoldiers.php. We only have Captains Of Industry bands enlisted at the moment but we will do our best to sign up your favourite bands (so make sure to add your five favourite bands)!

We have also just been asked to organise street teams for Streebeck
www.streebeck.com and Astrella-Celeste www.astrella-celeste.com (daughter of 60’s folk star Donovan – ask your parents!). While these aren’t really the type of artists we would normally deal with, if you are interested in helping them can you sign up as above then send us an email info@footsoldiers.org.uk stating which one, or both, you can help with?

*Street teaming involves distributing posters and flyers, spreading the word on the street and online, attending the bands gigs (guestlist of course!) and building their mailing lists. As a street team member you are normally the first to hear about new releases and tour dates. However, street teaming only works if you are seriously passionate, or totally obsessed, about the bands you are working for!

Please feel free to forward this email to any of your friends.

Muchas gracias!

Rich

Hi All

We're after some good all girl rock/dance/any genre bands for our project in Germany, UK, Cyprus, Afghanistan, Iraq.

Basically what I am doing at Electric PR is project managing a rotation of up and coming bands of differing abilities and status to perform live on army, RAF and naval bases in the UK and abroad. It's a communist activity meaning that budget-wise everyone gets paid exactly the same. Payment will predominantly be in transport costs and travel costs but this is wonderful opportunity to play to a captive audience of people who want to see your music. What I'm offering is as much airplay/tv and press out there as you can handle. Each band does a radio interview, they get a facing page feature in the paper and magazines. Take loads of merchandise as it's all the bands to sell and make a profit on (we priced our previous bands merch like this: T-shirts € 10 CDs €5 - that's a really good mark-up and the squaddies love buying CDs!). The dates are based on squaddies pay packets! They get paid the first two weeks of the month, ergo, that's when bands will be playing: Thursday to Sunday and it's up to the bands if they want to do both weeks. We'll come to that later....

There's nothing in it for us, except for the fact that we get to organise great music for a very worthy bunch of people.

Covers: Really would be nice as otherwise there is no reference point for people to enjoy your music out there...

Send us your biog and CD to: Electric PR Limited, The Littlehouse Flat, Doddington Hall, Lincoln. LN6 4RU - ASAP PLEASE!!! It's important that we don't get Myspace urls - they are a bit hard to send to people who know nothing about Myspace.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best

Kelly

Hi Derek and Val.

Just to say thank you for the kind review of DIABLO at The Fleming - we appreciated your nice words, so little does one get feedback of any stature.
The Fleming is a good venue and we certainly had a great time as we do with all our gigs. You didn't mention my startling resemblance to Tom Cruise but I'll let you off!
Hope to see you again soon and in the meantime. Good luck with North East Music.

Best Wishes,

Dave Drums Diablo

Hi Val,

Many thanks for the fab review of Kneejerk Reaction at the Pemberton on 31st of March. Very much appreciated!

We noticed that you were taking some photos throughout the night and saw the ones on the review. They're pretty damn good and we wondered if you wouldn't mind emailing some of the best ones to us?

We like to keep a photographic record of our best gigs. just a daft keepsake sort of thing and feel that your pics would be an excellent addition to our collection.

Many thanks for your support!

Regards

Ed - KJR
